Happy 6 Month Birthday Davy!

6 months old today. 

It has gone by so fast. Tonight I just stared at her while I rocked her to sleep- imagining her as a teenager, imagining how I'll feel when I look back and remember these sweet moments. I want to savor it- savor every second.

What I've learned so far that I will try to remember for the next one- and for advice for other first time moms…

1.)  Don't worry so much. I spent too much time worrying about her separation anxiety, about bed sharing and when to move her to her crib, about nursing to sleep (should I, shouldn't I)... and all those things just got resolved naturally. I just followed her lead and in time she figured it out and let me know what she needed. And Mike and I figured out what we needed... a Saturday babysitter!
We still have a lot to learn together- but what I've realized is that she tells me when she's ready for the next step, and we go from there. One day at a time. 

2.)  Be grateful. Be present. Be flexible.

Dori & Chris's WEDDING!

We had so much fun at Dori and Chris's wedding in D.C. last weekend! It was Dayvia's first plane ride and first wedding and we now know that she loooves traveling!
The morning we left L.A.  I had to wake her up at 5am for our 8:15 flight. I was nervous that she would be cranky getting up that early (she usually wakes up at 7am), but she woke up with a smile on her face and looked so excited like she knew where we were going. She loved strolling through the airport, looking at everyone and taking it all in. And as the plane took off, she nursed and went right to sleep! 
When we arrived in D.C. we met up with the family and had a nice Italian dinner. We met all of Dori's family- they are so warm and welcoming! The whole weekend was wonderful- so much love all around, lots of family time. Dayvia met so many people and did so well in her new surroundings. As long as Mike or I was holding her, she was happy to accompany us to all of the festivities. Thank goodness for the Moby wrap.
We flew back early Monday morning, and again, she loved the travel day. She slept most of the way on the flight home- phew!

There's only one problem now-
Since we've been back she has woken up every day at 5am with a huge smile on her face as if to say, "Good morning!! Where are we going today?!?!"

Next trip will be to Ohio for Thanksgiving!
