This year's Halloween was nothing short of SPECTACULAR. Dayvia has an incredible amount of enthusiasm for decorating and dressing up. This year she chose our family's themed costumes. She was "Dark Purple" Ariel, Mike was King Triton (Ariel's Dad), and I was Ursula (the villainous sea witch). Halloween prep started weeks prior to the 31st, with costume planning, decor shopping, and visits to the local Halloween store. For weeks, she would ask, "is Halloween coming soon? Is it tomorrow yet?"
Finally- the 31st arrived and she was beyond excited. Grandma Peach, Bubba, and Grandpa Howard made the trip to LA to share the festivities with us. Aunt Rachel also came over for the evening.
Dayvia chose her grandmothers' costumes as well- they were Ariel's Mermaid Grandmas, "Mermoms".
Here is a conversation I had with Dayvia after the evening:
Me: What was your favorite part about Halloween?
Day: Trick or Treating!! And passing out candy!
Me: Was there any parts of Halloween that were scary to you?
Day: Nahhhh... the scary parts are funny! And they are just pretend.
Me: Did you love your costume? And me and Daddy's costumes?
Day: (shaking her head yes) I did! Your costume was funny and Daddy's costume was AMAZING.
