When Mike travels to Atlanta, he is usually gone for 2-3 weeks. Now that we have a baby, that time apart is even harder. So- we went with him this time! We were there for 17 days, which is a long time in a hotel with a baby! Although daily maid service and room service was pretty great. The hotel had a portabello and goat cheese sandwich with tomato jam that I am still thinking about...
We spent the days hanging out at the hotel pool, and taking walks downtown and to the park, we met up with some friends who live in Atlanta, and we made a trip to the Aquarium.
The highlight of the trip was seeing one of my best friends, Emily, and her family! Emily and I were besties in high school and we have kept in touch. But we hadn't seen each other in 10 years! She and her husband have 3 kids and live in Jacksonville, FL. So they packed up their car and drove to Atlanta to meet us for a weekend! It was so great to hang out with my good friend and watch our husbands bond and our kids play together!!
We also got to see our cousins David and MZ and their 3 boys, who look so much like Davy! They are the funniest, sweetest boys in the world. I wish we lived closer to them, but I'm excited that they are in Atlanta so we can visit them when we travel with Mike!
Davy loves traveling and she did very well being gone for so long. But when we got home, she was SOOO excited to see her toys and her crib!! She lunged for her toys and started rolling around with them like she was saying, "my toys! my toys! oh how I've missed you!"
Traveling is fun- but it's good to be home. Home sweet home.
